Honestly, I don’t buy store-bought dressings anymore. They seem to quickly go to waste and it’s fun trying new homemade versions. If you are worried about waste when making your own concoctions, just make a half batch.

What You’ll Need:

As you can see, this dressing requires just a handful of simple ingredients plus seasonings.

  • Olive Oil – I normally use extra-virgin olive oil for my homemade dressings.
  • Red Wine Vinegar – This vinegar adds the perfect tangy flavor to this dressing.
  • Sugar – Just a couple of teaspoons needed
  • Dijon Mustard – This mustard adds a nice creamy texture.
  • Seasonings – Oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper ( to taste).

Optional: Add a sprinkle of Italian Seasoning to the dressing for an even more pronounced Italian flavor.

Storing Homemade Creamy Italian Dressing:

Store this dressing in a separate container (like a small jar) in your refrigerator for up to two weeks. If the leftover dressing gets thick, just set it out on your countertop beforehand or warm it in the microwave for just 10 seconds or so.

Then shake shake shake to get all of the ingredients mixed together.
