Ingredients needed for Coffee Smoothies:

  • Cold Brew Ice Cubes – Made from cold brew concentrate or use your leftover coffee.
  • Banana – Adds creaminess to these delicious smoothies.
  • Peanut Butter – You could use natural peanut butter, cashew butter, or your favorite nut butter.
  • Pure Maple Syrup – The sweetener that we used.
  • Vanilla Extract – Adds even more flavor.
  • Milk – While we normally use almond milk, you could try other non-dairy options like oat milk, coconut milk, soy milk, etc. Likewise, you could use regular cow’s milk.
  • Optional Ingredients – Whipped cream topping

TIP: If you want a protein boost, add a scoop of vanilla protein powder or chocolate protein powder to your smoothies.

How to make Peanut Butter Coffee Smoothies:

Step 1
Make the coffee cubes. In advance, make the ice cubes using cold brew or strong coffee. Freeze until set. To make 12 cubes using these trays (linked below), You’ll need about one and a third cups of coffee.

Step 2
Combine ingredients. In a high-power blender, combine the coffee cubes, banana, peanut butter, pure maple syrup, vanilla extract, and milk.

Step 3
Blend. Blend ingredients until smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a little extra milk. If the smoothie is too thin, add more coffee cubes or ice cubes.

Step 4
Serve. Pour coffee smoothies into two glasses. Then top with some whipped cream topping.

Banana Coffee Smoothie Recipe – Tips & Variations:

  • Prep in advance. Make sure you make those coffee cubes well in advance. See the links for the ice cube trays we use.
  • Use cold coffee. Whether or not you use cold brew, espresso, or strong coffee, you’ll want to make sure it’s super cold before adding to ice cube trays. You can brew your regular coffee the day before and refrigerate it.
  • Substitute as desired. Feel free to substitute almond butter for peanut butter, regular milk for almond milk, and honey for pure maple syrup. There are different ways to make this banana coffee smoothie recipe depending on your personal preference.
  • Adjust as needed. If your smoothies are too thin, add more coffee cubes or ice cubes. If they’re too thick, use a little more milk.
