Ingredients
9slider buns- I use my homemade Italian Herb Bread
1/2cupstone ground mustard
1/2poundham
1/4poundsalami
1/4poundmortadella
1/4poundprovolone cheese
1/2cupbanana peppers
2Tablespoonsunsalted butter- melted
1teaspoonEACH Italian Seasoning and red pepper flakes
sliced tomatoes, lettuce, olives,- optional, for filling
Instructions
Prep the bread. You won't be sorry if you want to try my Italian Herb Bread. But if you're not into baking like I am, buy some slider buns at the store. Most carry Hawaiian rolls which would also be delicious.Use a serrated edge knife to carefully slice the rolls in half and lay them out flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.9 slider buns
Add the meats and cheese. Spread the stone ground mustard on the rolls, smoothing evenly to all sides. Layer the three meats on top of the mustard. Then add the banana peppers followed by the cheese. Place the top layer of rolls on the meat layer.1/2 cup stone ground mustard, 1/2 pound ham, 1/4 pound salami, 1/4 pound mortadella, 1/2 cup banana peppers, 1/4 pound provolone cheese
Add the seasoning mixture. Combine the melted butter and seasonings (Italian Seasoning and red pepper flakes) and brush the mixture all over the top of the rolls.2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon EACH Italian Seasoning and red pepper flakes
Bake. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cover the sliders with some aluminum foil. Then bake for about 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes. Add condiments as desired. Slice and enjoy!sliced tomatoes, lettuce, olives,
Notes
Store leftover sliders by wrapping them aluminum foil or cling wrap. They will last in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. I don't recommend freezing these sandwiches.
Feel free to customize the meats and cheese. We occasionally add prosciutto, pepperoni, or smoked turkey. Mozzarella cheese is also a good alternative to provolone. You can also add other fillings like pepperoncini or roasted red peppers.
