8slicesBrioche bread- thickly sliced
3largeeggs
3/4cupwhole milk
1Tablespoonbrown sugar
1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
1teaspoonvanilla extract
a pinch of kosher salt
butter- for cooking

Instructions
Slice bread. Slice the brioche bread into thick slices - about 1/2 inch thick.
Combine soaking ingredients. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt. Use a whisk to combine well.3 large eggs, 3/4 cup whole milk, 1 Tablespoon brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, a pinch of kosher salt
Heat skillet. Heat a skillet to medium heat and add a pat of butter.
Dip bread. Place a slice of brioche bread in the egg and milk mixture, turning it over to coat both sides. Repeat with all slices of bread.8 slices Brioche bread
Cook French toast. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add a coating of butter. As you dip the bread, place a couple of slices on the skillet at a time. Cook one side for a few minutes, or until golden brown. Then flip to the other side and cook for another couple of minutes. Make sure you cook over medium heat and let both sides brown (without burning).butter

Keep warm. I recommend placing cooked slices of French Toast on a rimmed baking sheet in a preheated 200-degree oven to keep warm.
Notes
You can use regular bread, but brioche adds a rich and buttery flavor to the French toast.
You can prepare the batter the night before and refrigerate it to allow the flavors to meld. Just whisk it before use.
STORE leftover French Toast in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
