Ingredients
1sheetpuff pastry- thawed
8oz. brie- we use double cream brie
1/2cuppreserves- any flavor
egg wash- one egg plus a splash of water
assorted breads, crackers, and fruit- to serve
Instructions
Prep for baking. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add a sheet of parchment paper to a sheet pan.
Prep puff pastry. Lay one sheet of puff pastry out to thaw, about 30 minutes. When thawed, lay it flat on a lightly floured surface and use a rolling pin to roll it out just slightly.1 sheet puff pastry
Add brie and jam. Place the brie cheese in the middle of the puff pastry. Spoon the jam overtop the cheese.8 oz. brie, 1/2 cup preserves
Wrap the brie. Wrap the puff pastry around the brie by lifting one side over the top and continue with remaining edges. As you wrap it, brush each section of puff pastry with egg wash. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. See below.egg wash
Bake the brie. Bake brie and jam puff pastry in the preheated oven for 25-26 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve. Transfer the baked brie to a serving platter and add some shaved almonds on top. Add a variety of crackers and bread to serve.assorted breads, crackers, and fruit
Notes
You can assemble the puff pastry appetizer ahead of time (add the egg wash later) and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
Leftover brie and jam puff pastry can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven to retain crispness.
