Ingredients
20mint leaves- plus more for a garnish
4ozfreshly squeezed lime juice
22oz.lemonade
12oz.rum- we use Bacardi
2-4simple syrup- as needed
club soda- to serve
lemon and lime slices- for garnish
Instructions
Muddle the mint leaves. In a glass pitcher, combine the mint leaves and a couple of ounces of simple syrup. Use a muddler to muddle the mint until fragrant, about 15-20 seconds.
Squeeze the limes. Use a citrus press to squeeze the limes. Add the lime juice to the pitcher.
Combine ingredients. To the pitcher add the lemonade and rum. Stir until well combined. Then add lemon and lime slices.
Prep glasses. Prepare two tall glasses by adding crushed ice, lemon slices, and lime slices.
Serve lemon mojitos. Pour the lemon mojitos into the prepared glasses. Add a splash of club soda and some mint sprigs for garnish.
Notes
Prep in advance. I like to make sure all my ingredients are super cold well in advance of making the mojitos. You can even place the rum in the freezer.
Use pretty glasses. It's fun to make these drinks pretty. Start with the glasses and then load them up with citrus.
Make a double batch for parties. If you're having a large group, you'll need more than one batch (depending on how many folks are joining you).
